Student Terms and Conditions
By registering as a student at Japanese Martial Arts Academy, LLC (JMAA), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Registration and Membership
- All students must complete the registration form and provide accurate personal information.
- Membership is subject to approval by JMAA.
- Fees for classes, uniforms, and other services must be paid in full according to the academy's payment policies.
2. Code of Conduct
- Students must show respect to instructors, fellow students, and the academy premises at all times.
- Bullying, harassment, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate dismissal.
- Students must adhere to the academy's dress code and wear the appropriate uniform during training sessions.
3. Health and Safety
- Students participate in martial arts training at their own risk. JMAA is not liable for injuries or accidents during training.
- Students must inform the academy of any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations before participating.
- Parents/guardians of minors are responsible for ensuring their child is physically fit to participate in activities.
4. Attendance and Punctuality
- Students are expected to attend classes regularly and arrive on time.
- If unable to attend, students must notify the academy in advance.
5. Payments and Refunds
- All fees are non-refundable unless stated in writing by JMAA.
- Late payments may result in suspension of training until the balance is cleared.
- Class cancellations or withdrawals must be submitted with a minimum of 30 days' notice.
6. Proof of Consent (SMS Opt-In)
- By providing a phone number, students (or parents/guardians) consent to receive SMS messages from JMAA for class reminders, announcements, and other academy communications.
- Consent may be withdrawn at any time by notifying the academy in writing or replying “STOP” to any SMS.
- Phone numbers will not be shared with third parties and will be used only for academy communications.
7. Cancellation of Classes
- JMAA may cancel or reschedule classes due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., instructor illness, extreme weather).
- Students will be notified of any cancellations or changes as early as possible.
8. Use of Photos and Videos
JMAA may take photos or videos during classes or events for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform the academy in writing.
9. Termination of Membership
- JMAA may terminate a student's membership for violation of academy rules or for other reasons deemed necessary by management.
- Students may cancel their membership by providing written notice with at least 30 days' notice.
10. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
JMAA reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Students will be notified of any changes.
11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Michigan. Any disputes will be resolved under the jurisdiction of Michigan courts.
Acknowledgment
By submitting the registration form, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions outlined above, including consent to receive SMS communications from JMAA.
